I tested with the words Palestine, empire, Perse... I can't see the maps!

There is an option "Image Content" from the context menu's "Module Options" submenu.  All image-containing modules gain this option, once the first image is detected.  But it defaults "on" so you can't avoid seeing images unless you deliberately turn it off.

Yes i saw it for others modules but not for fredaw. I don't know why. Did you see it in yours?

As I said, it becomes an available option once Xiphos has noticed that images are in the content. Until you display an entry that has images, the option doesn't become visible; once visible, it defaults on. There are images there, and Xiphos displays them. See the entry keys I mentioned previously, for entries that include images.

Ok I'm sorry I didn't understood well during the first reading of your message. But now my question is how Xiphos can notice that images are in the content??

I conform that the module option for images does not appear after navigating to a sample of keys from Karl's list.

I wonder if there's something quirky about the CONF file fredaw.conf that may be at the root of this problem?

Observations:

1. The file contains several blank lines and also lots of comment lines that start with either # or ##
2. The module name [FreDAW] appears on line 4, after three such comment lines.
3. The file contains a line that reads Feature=Images - but Xiphos (module context menu) About says * No features found.

Best regards,

David

When preparing the content for the HTML widget, Xiphos looks for <img> tags, anticipating the possibility of resizing to fit the widget pane.  The first time that Xiphos notices <img>, it creates the option and sets it on.  You can turn it off and on thereafter.

Um... I just hand-edited my ~/.xiphos/modops.conf, took out everything for FreDAW (to make Xiphos think it's not been seen before), restarted Xiphos, and brought up FreDAW's "commerce" entry. There is a map there (images/3.jpg). Works fine...in Linux.

And then I tried the Win32 version.  No joy. Weird, because images work fine in Win32 for Bibles, commentaries, and genbooks (look at LuthersWorks, for example).  I haven't any idea how a lexdict module can be a special case here.

I have some debugging to do. And I am behind.

I did the same (I'm on linux too) took out everything, then I add the entry Image Content=On (but I have the entry in the context's menu), no image appears, sniff... :-(

Salut Cyrille!

Sorry for the delay, I was on the road.

FreDaw is marked up in TEI P5 Format. For dictionaries, the use of Text
Encoding Initiative P5 markup is encouraged by Crosswire.

There are still some downsides, you'll need to install sword-svn on your
system to see images in Xiphos, previous versions do not support images
nor tables.

Hi David!

This is Sword related, you'll need the soon to be released 1.8.0
revision for displaying images in a TEI encoded dictionary.

You'll need Sword 1.8.0 as well, for displaying tables from TEI encoded dictionaries.
